She earned critical acclaim and many prestigious prizes in recognition of her uniqueness and vocal ability. She has been the most notable winner of the Grammy Award three times. Alongside her career in music, she has appeared in films and TV shows. She also wrote her children's book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and been involved in several charities.
